WrestleMania is set to come back to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19, 2026. The news arrives a month after WWE declared that the previous edition, WrestleMania 41, was “the most successful and highest-grossing event in the history of the company.”

Paul Michael Levesque, the chief content officer of WWE, announced it at the company's "Money in the Bank" event on Saturday in Los Angeles.

“In my experience, anything worth doing is worth doing twice,” said the former professional wrestler also known as Triple H. “So I’ve got just one question for you — are you ready to double down?”

Initially, WrestleMania was set to take place at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, as The Rock disclosed on the Feb. 21 episode of “Friday Night SmackDown.” However, last month, WWE announced that it had altered its plans.

This is just the second occasion that WWE will hold WrestleMania in the same city for two consecutive years. The most recent occurred in 1988-89 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

 

Economic Setback

In April, WrestleMania 41 produced an estimated economic impact of $215 million for Las Vegas, as reported by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. This figure accounts for the spending of roughly 125K fans who attended the two-night main event at Allegiant, as well as a weekend packed with events like a Friday Night SmackDown at T-Mobile Arena, a WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony at Fontainebleau, and a WWE fan experience at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The weekend was positive for the WWE too. Approximately 5.8 to 6.2 million streaming accounts watched WrestleMania 41 events — a jump of 3.1 to 3.3 million accounts from WrestleMania 40’s record of 2.7–2.9 million — with international Netflix streaming likely elevating the worldwide total significantly.

This will mark the third occurrence of the event in Vegas. The inaugural event was WrestleMania IX in 1993.

 

Struggling with History

The probable cause for WWF (the name WWE went by before 2002) not returning to Vegas for over 30 years is that the initial experience wasn't very positive.

Taking place at the Caesars Palace Grand Garden — essentially just the Caesars Palace parking lot — WrestleMania IX is regarded as one of the less impressive installments in the series Following Yokozuna's victory over Bret Hart for the WWF Championship in the main event, it was determined that he would face Hulk Hogan next in an unannounced match. Though this returned the title to Hogan for the final time, at the time, the sudden change in booking largely disappointed WWF fans.

Furthermore, the transmission was affected by sound problems that made a large portion of the commentary unintelligible.

In the end, the event wasn't a sellout. Although 16,891 people were present, there were 18,000 tickets on offer, resulting in over 1,000 tickets that went unused. And undoubtedly thousands had already been distributed to casino VIPs, high-rollers, WWF staff, media members, and contest victors.
